Hance PTO hosted a kindness-themed assembly for students on November 21 featuring a performance from Saltworks Theatre Company.

Hance students invited veteran family members to join them for a special Veterans Day breakfast and then participated in a parade through the school. Their fellow students colored signs and posters to thank all of the veterans in attendance.

Kindergarten students Daveena Estrada (Wexford), Jacob Mitchell (Richland) and Ella DaDamo (Hance) were this year's kindergarten speakers at commencement. The Class of 2025 presented each student with a donation to their school's library.

Students at Hance were recently treated by the PTO to a special assembly featuring Parker Basketball Jones in which he talked about kindness and the importance of being respectful, accountable, motivated and safe. Students were entertained by and participated in exciting basketball tricks, showed off their best respectful and kind behavior, and even danced with their teachers!

Second graders were treated to a visit from Ash, a screech owl from the National Aviary, and learned about different habitats and the birds that live in them.

Motivational speaker Jon Pritikin visited Hance Elementary to talk to students about his experiences overcoming a speech problem and bullying. One of the world's strongest men and Guinness World Record Holder, Mr. Pritikin entertained the students with feats of strength, including tearing a ream of paper in half, while reinforcing his messages about what it means to be kind and that everyone can be kind.

Principal's Message—December 5, 2025

What a great week back! There is always a buzz in the air during the month of December. We all must work extra hard to ensure that we are maximizing the time we have with our students (only 14 days) while still ensuring the lessons are tightly aligned to our curriculum.

Student Art Projects Displayed at the Pine Community Center

Pine-Richland student art is on display at Pine Community Center through mid-January in the fourth year of a partnership with Pine Township. All members of the community are encouraged to stop by to see what our K-8 students have been working on this school year! 

Skate for a Cause

Join Hance Elementary PTO on Saturday, January 17, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm as we Skate for a Cause! $14 includes entrance to the public skate and skate rental.
