Principal's Message—January 17, 2025

Dear Families,

As a reminder, each year on the third Monday of January, we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day and reflect on how we can continue improving our school culture to ensure that everyone feels safe and their voices are valued within our schools.  As a school, one of our building goals is related to building a positive culture.  We work together to promote kindness and inclusion.

This week, to deepen student understanding, students watched a video recording of the book, I Am Martin Luther King, Jr. by Brad Meltzer.  It was read by the author himself!  Students then reflected on Dr. King’s story and message through various activities (ex. writing their dreams, drawing a picture of what they will do if they see someone being treated unfairly, talking about how they want to change the world).  We plan on displaying activities in our main hallway on our grade-level bulletin boards.

Please talk with your child about their dream for the world.  We hope to continue to promote RAMS Way and kindness through this activity while building a welcoming environment for all!

Have a wonderful weekend!
