Hance Safety Drills

Over the past couple of weeks we have been reviewing the RAMS Way and talking about how to be safe in all areas of the school. One way that we work to keep everyone safe is to practice our emergency drills (fire, lockdown, and severe weather). This week we did have our first lockdown drill and the students did a super job. An announcement was made over the PA system explaining that we would be starting a drill that allows us to be safe in case someone is in our school that shouldn’t be. Kid-appropriate language is used and I reminded the students multiple times it was practice.With all drills, we remind the students to stay at a level 0 so the adults can give them any directions necessary. With each drill, we vary the times of day so students can practice them in different locations and so AM/PM kindergarten can participate. We will continue to encourage students to do things the RAMS Way in all aspects of their day. If you have any questions, please let Mrs. Giran know.
