District to Host Dyslexia Simulation Event
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month
Dyslexia Awareness Month aims to support students with this specific learning difficulty. Dyslexia is a learning impairment that causes problems with reading, writing and spelling. The intelligence of people with dyslexia is unaffected.
In order to help facilitate more understanding and awareness about this learning difficulty, Pine-Richland School District is offering a dyslexia simulation event on Wednesday, October 14, hosted by the International Dyslexia Association of Pennsylvania. Stations will be set up to learn more about how dyslexia can impact daily functioning when in school.

10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Pine-Richland Stadium
Registration will begin at 9:45 am in the lobby of Pine-Richland Stadium. The event will kick off in the Spirit Room and then attendees will break into five different stations throughout the building that will provide hands-on experiences to mimic what a student or person with dyslexia may endure when completing school-related tasks.
